PAGAN PRODUCTIONS ORGANIZING FESTIVAL IN SPAIN 2011
SUMMER 2010 AGENDA

Pagan productions Arrested!!!!!
Thursday, 4th October 2007

With only two hours to the end of the Full Moon festival in Germany this summer, an undercover police officer entered my shop. Unluckily for me his English was extremely poor and so he did not recognize the label on one of my T-shirts, ’Hindu Swastika’. He saw only a small part of the design and for him it was a NAZI ’Hakenkreuze’. Even though, as seen from the picture, Shiva is in the center and the back print included another swastika with Ganesh in the middle, he must have thought that this was an opportunity to gain a few stripes on his sleeve and he dutifully reported it to his senior officer back in Wittstock police station. As they were doing their best to find any possible way to give the Full moon and all trance festivals a bad reputation the commanding officer gave orders to arrest me and confiscate all the t-shirts with that design on it. The two uniformed police who came to arrest me saw staright away that this was wrong and that it was not a Nazi symbol but a Hindu one and tried their best to convince the commanding officer not to arrest me and that I was alone in my shop and that I could come to the station the following morning to explain the design. Unfortunately this was refused as they thought I might run away, even when the police officer explained that this would be impossible with my big shop still to pack and build down but head quarters insisted that they arrest me. I want to take this opportunity to thank that uniformed police officer for really trying his best to avoid such action. So because of the ignorance of just one cop I had to stay locked up in cell with neon lights blasting the whole time for 18 hours. It was only 8 degrees this night and with no blanket and no bed I had to freeze and only wonder when I might get out. Finally around 4pm the following day it was my turn to talk to the commander with a not very helpful translator. When I began by asking to call my lawyer and embassy, I was told that, yes this is my right but then I would have to stay there for several days more before it could be arranged. This they knew was not possible for me as my shop was sitting back on the festival site and the Vuuv was starting the next day, so I had no choice but to sign where they asked, pay 500 euros and by 6pm I was back on the festival grounds to find that all my friends had already packed away all my stock and dismantled my shop. I want to thank everyone who helped do this from the bottom of my heart. Special thanks to Gloria for looking after my shop at the time of arrest and Ananto for accompanying me to the police station.
